# will the glee clubbers run a marathon in s5 or 6? # stay tuned

i read on tumblr that glee did a school shooting episode?

????

what

why would you

a bunch of elementary school students got murdered four months ago

and the ones who weren’t killed were still really traumatized

that is an actual thing that happened to actual people really recently and their community is still feeling that

has this show just vowed to continually try to out-insensitive itself or?

i’m just really really sick of the whole glee fandom shitting on brittana shippers because they “complain too much” or whatever. because you guys realize that EVERY ship fandom within the glee fandom complains right? all of them send hate to writers and actors. you can’t deny it. sure, it may be a greater amount in certain fandoms, but it happens in all of them.

and EVEN IF the brittana fandom WAS the only fandom who complained, i would say that they have many reasons to???????

For those of you still unaware, I’m trying to spread the word about this to get as many people in the know as possible.

As you will find in the article linked to this picture, Glee has ripped off Jonathan Coulton with their newest acoustic rendition of Sir MixaLot’s “Baby Got Back” - a rendition completely identical to the one Coulton released in 2006 (you can find a side-by-side in the article) without contacting him beforehand. They even sing “Johnny C’s in trouble,” as Coulton did in 2006.

This is a disrespectful and shameful theft of intellectual property and it makes me sick - not only that they stole his idea without asking him or crediting him, but that if this song really does air in six days as is planned (which I hope to God it doesn’t), there will be thousands of people who will think that Glee came up with the idea to do an acoustic version of “Baby Got Back,” and Glee will take all the credit the Jonathan Coulton deserves.

Please, spread the word and contact FOX on Twitter, Facebook, what have you - let them know that what they’re doing is cheap and wrong.

i don’t listen to jonathan coulton or watch glee, but not crediting an artist is about the biggest dick move you can make without actually causing anyone physical harm

jesus fucking christ

oh my god this is NOT OKAY AT ALL

as awful as glee can be about stuff like this the idea to do a song acoustically or in a style it would not usually be played in is nothing new?? i get that jonathan coulton is ~one of us~ and everything i think he’s really neat but this seems like it’s being a much bigger deal than it needs to

apart from the fact that it’s got literally the exact pacing and key and harmonization as jonathan’s cover, they also literally kept the “jonny c’s in trouble” line

it’s genuinely just them covering his cover without crediting or notifying him

theres no other way to interpret the situation

remember that we’re talking about an interpretation of this song

like listen to that and then jonathan’s cover and then glee’s cover

it’s … i mean there can be no question about the intention at all

To be honest I could make this post gigantic on how Glee treats it’s women and how it’s probably the most regressive TV show to air in recent times (although of course what makes it worse is that they self-promote as a show about progressive topics and stances, they even made a…

Santana comes out in deleted ‘Glee’ Scene.

i think it’s super cool that when glee wanted to do a story line with kurt and blaine’s relationship they made it realistic and generally developed and well-resolved (for glee) but when they wanted to do a story line with santana and brittany’s relationship they used a horrible idea involving a huge breach of trust that wasn’t really properly addressed, and generally shafted their character development in order to aid their convoluted, inappropriate, and generally terrible plot. actually wait no i don’t think that’s cool at all.

I get that it’s Glee and that their idea of continuity is throwing together a bunch of clips from S1 and S2 (that serve to only highlight the superior lighting and writing they once had) all for the sake of setting up the premise of the episode.

It’s bad enough that it turns the characters into walking strawmen for whatever hamfisted Very Special Lesson they’d decided to do this week. But you’d think at least the lessons would be good- or at least not damaging.

So here we go…
